Propaganda is information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view. Propaganda posters were used globally to recruit troops during the war, sell war bonds, act as advertisements, and to influence countries not included in the war to join. Recruitment propaganda helped mobilization in the beginning of the Great War for both sides, the triple entente and the triple alliance. Instead of women being recruited for war, they were asked to help by working jobs usually done by men. One example of recruitment propaganda was Uncle Sam in posters saying “I Want You For U.S. Army”. War bonds were sold by the government to the people to raise money to finance its
military.
