World War One was an extremely deadly conflict which alone had a total of 10 million military personnel and 7 million citizen deaths. WW1 started after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife Sophie. This assassination started a world war as countries were in alliances and if one country was in a war with another the allies would be expected to help whether it be with soldiers or supplies.
