Thesis: In this propaganda poster, the United States government successfully mobilizes the female front at home during World War II by having a well-balanced approach to rhetorical strategies.
The United States was engaged in World War II from 1941 to 1942, beginning with the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese in December 1941. In the same month, the United States also became involved in the European theatre of the war with Italy and Nazi Germany (both declared war on the United States on December 11, 1941). With over 16 million Americans (mainly men) serving in World War II, someone needed to take the jobs men left behind at home (and to support the war effort).
