Over the course of three days, October 19, 21, and 22, I had the opportunity to complete five hours of community service by making football beaded keychains for two programs, Teen Reach and PLAY. Since our community service assignment was service to go boxes, I had a fairly big range on what type of service I could choose to complete. I had the option to complete keychains, cards for the children's hospital, senior support, veterans, and youth motivation, folders and bookmarks for kids, bird feeders, hospice gel packs, or fleece blankets. Although I would thoroughly enjoy volunteering for all these services, I chose the beaded keychains because I really liked the organizations they were going to and I have experience volunteering in similar programs. Teen Reach is an after-school and summer program that provides entertainment and learning opportunities for children aged 11 to 17. The program incorporates homework help, mentoring services, life skill enrichment, career exploration, volunteerism opportunities, counseling services, recreational activities, field trips, and snacks. Beforehand, I guessed I would make around twenty to twenty-five keychains. As soon as I began making them, I realized that was an unrealistic goal to complete within five hours. The amount of time that had to be put into each keychain was far more than I expected. If I could redo the project, I would complete it within a group. When I finished five hours and realized I had only made fifteen keychains, I was a little surprised and felt as if I should have more for the amount of time I spent making them. I thought I was only going to provide a small fraction of what was needed. If I had two or three people helping me, I would have felt more of a rewarding feeling afterwards, knowing we made closer forty-five keychains in five
