The Yad Vashem archive was started up by the Yad Vashem World Holocaust Remembrance Center, that is located in Jerusalem, Israel, as a way to perserve the stories/memories of those who lost their lives or lived during the Holocaust. One of the main reasons that the Yad Vashem archive was created was for the future generations to learn of what happened in World War 2 (WW2) from the voices that had lived during that time period. The website offers a varitey of documents, videos, recordings, testimonies, and photos that individuals all around the world can have access to 24/7 if internet is avaiable. While going through the archive, it presents many materials that offers a particular snapshot/ snapshots of people, the past events, and the signifcance of each story. But what makes some of these artifacts more important than others and why based on who is represented, information, time period, and why it was created. …show more content…
Then there very noticeable document that shows first on the main page is labeled “ Last Letters From the Holocaust:1941”. The difference of these archives is that the main archive and the one that is presented on the main page is based on what is more important. But what makes these documents more important than the others? I believe that the creator/creators of the archive hold the Last Letters of the Holocaust page more important over the other documents in the main archive for that the letters have a more signficant value. By this is that the letters correspond to each or are related for the authors and their family are connected to each other somehow or some event that is presented in the letter archive. An example is that the love ones those who written the note to ended up seeking refuge in some part of Israel. Then some where involved in the same organization such as the Red Band or different
