Yale’s residential college system is integral to the undergraduate experience. Every student is a part of a residential college, and even before a student arrives on campus for the first time, their placement into one affects how they will interact within the Yale bubble. Each college varies greatly in terms of the physical space that it occupies, the students who are a part of it, and even the reputation that has been created over the years. This system seems to be created as a means to foster stronger ties within the student body.
