Nothing beats the views and sounds of a game day at the ballpark. From pulling into the parking ramp, hopping on the train, or getting in a taxi, the excitement begins before you even step foot into the venue. From the noise that you hear after your ticket ahs been scanned to the smells of food frying and popcorn popping as you navigate your way through the lobby to get to your seats, there is a certain feeling that is created by these things that attribute to one’s game day experience. There is no doubt that people love their sports teams and for a fan there is no greater experience than to attend live games of their favorite teams. The stadium is the pivotal point of that experience. For some cities the local stadium is an iconic landmark and a vital element of their city. Even old stadiums that are no longer in use are still celebrated by fans such as the old Yankee Stadium, which was and still is endearingly referred to as “The Stadium” or “The Cathedral of Baseball”. These facilities are not just the places where tens of thousands of fans assemble to watch their favorite teams, but also a venue where people spend money on …show more content…
The name of the stadium, however, did remain the same. The Yankees played at the old Yankee Stadium for over eight decades when it opened on April 18, 1923. The start of the first season at the new stadium was thought to bring the extra spotlight to the Yankees due to the opening of the brand new stadium. The new stadiums that are being built in today’s day and age are modernizing the traditional pastime of watching a ballgame with a hot dog in hand.
