Abstract
The paper will try to outline the history of the Yellowstone National Park and the introduction of the National Park Service. It will also attempt to describe the challenges that the park went through as well as the activities that the park and others offer. The paper will also address other countries national park systems, and focus will be in South Africa and Brazil. The paper will conclude by mentioning different national parks in Brazil and South Africa and what they offer.
Introduction

He returned home with stories about the steaming geysers and all the other features, but people doubted his stories hence naming the place "Colter's Hell". The place remained a mystery until 1869 when the first formal expedition occurred in the area by Folsom-Cook. From there on other expedition were conducted in the area and most notable the Washburn-Langford-Doane expedition. These expeditions brought the attention to government and in 1871 a government-appointed geologist Ferdinand Hayden visited the area. Accompanied by a photographer William Jackson and a landscape artist Thomas Moran they collected images and visual recording of the place. Some of the most exciting and captivating parks include; Great Smoky Mountains National Park the park receives more than nine million visitors annually. In 2013, the park was ranked highest as the most visited national park in the country. Being part of the Appalachian Mountains, it is the home of close to four-hundred vertebrate species (Everhart 84). Other exciting features include tree species and plants species. Different tree species close to a hundred are in the area and more than five-thousand plant species. The main and the most captivating attraction in the park is hiking. The mountains have a terrine that offers a great atmosphere for hiking. It has over eight-hundred miles of these terrains which connects to the Appalachian and further seventy miles on the Appalachian Trail. The area offers refreshing and captivating scenery as one hike the mountains (National Park Owner's Manual for New Citizens of the United States of America 96). Other attractions in the park include fishing as numerous streams run through the slopes of the mountain. Horseback riding is another activity that is offered in the park as one travel through the mountain.
