Number Eight: They Did Not Scrimp On Size
When creating Yosemite, the size of the park was not what it is today. Certain locations were added as various people saw a need to preserve it. Today, the park is 747,956 acres.
Number Seven: Yosemite Does Not Stand Still
Since it is a park, things are constantly changing in Yosemite. One of the larger things are the mountains. They may not look like it but they are still growing at a foot per 1,000 years.

Number Three: What You See Is Not What You Get
With over 700,000 acres, it is almost impossible to see all of Yosemite. The interesting thing is you actually can't. The majority of the park is not touched by humans.
Number Two: Fires Are Common And Safe
In nature, fires are not necessarily a bad thing. They help remove dead plants and make room for more to grow. The fact that Yosemite has 43 natural lightening fires per year is nature's own way of maintaining the park which means less work for the park rangers.
Number One: Rock Climbing Was Made For Yosemite
