Ever since the creation of Judaism, the Jewish people have been ridiculed and undermined in society as lesser. They have gone through mass slavery in Egypt and complete genocide in Germany. This persecution has continued even after the downfall of the Nazi regime and is now prominent in the Middle East. Once Israel was officially created it tipped the Arab world into chaos with the “help” of Amin al Husseini, whose impact will be discussed later. Furthermore, during World War One the Middle East was just beginning to become volatile, this is due to the intervention of Western Countries, especially the British. In Young Moshe’s Diary we see a first hand account of how the Jews had to survive. “They, who regard themselves as privileged, good and superior, are really not a whit better than Germany. It is only through them that such a disaster could have befallen us. Cruel Russia, for instance, has already forgotten the many myriads of Jews murdered under its rule, most of whom lost their lives by Russia’s intention.” (Pg. 48) Shows that no matter the country Jews were persecuted universally. They were seen as a lesser person entirely. During the Holocaust it was a complete genocide, they were forced into concentration camps and whole families were slaughtered. Concentration camps were first used for political enemies, but later used for Jews and social misfits. The camps were slave labor camps, but eventually the only purpose of the camps was mass extermination of undesired people. At the end of the war Hitler began killing the old and weak no matter who they were. To make this a quicker a process the Nazi’s began using gas vans that were more portable. Disguised it as simple shower, but instead of water flooded it with Carbon Monoxide. Before being slaughtered like cattle the prisoners were forced to undress and give up all their belongings to the Germans. After being killed the Nazi soldiers would take the Gold teeth off of the dead and then burned the bodies in mass unmarked
