In Zaragosa Vargas’s, Crucible of Struggle, many diverse topics are focused on for example, economic failure/growth, the interactions between Mexicans and Native Americans, and migration occurring throughout the frontier areas. All these structural forces illustrate the reasons why rebellion rose in Mexican northern frontiers, and what would come hand-in-hand with this rebellion. The key to economic development and success in Northern frontier land was the exploitations of Native Americans, and by using their labor for the benefit of agricultural development. The use of their labor contradicted the efforts of the missionaries to convert Natives towards Catholicism. Throughout time, missionaries began to fail and making Natives be obedient,
