There has been many different remakes of Shakespeare’s play titled Hamlet with movies. In order to find the best version one needs to compare the differences of each one. The movie clip is very boring and the actor has no real expressions on his face or in his tone of voice. He doesn’t show if he’s upset or angry about the situation he’s in. His pauses are way too long that the audience could forget what he said previously before the long pause and cause them to be confuse. For his actions, he didn’t really do anything. He just sat there leaning against a wall while staring at the camera. Most of the viewers probably found him staring at the camera to be quite creepy. The setting which was the throne room, didn’t really have any relevance to his speech. There is no music playing in the background. Music would be a good idea, because it could distract the viewers from him staring at the camera. The camera angles were over his shoulder, close up where you can only see his head. These camera angles aren’t very exciting and are boring for the audience to watch.
In conclusion, The Zeffirelli version starring Mel Gibson as Hamlet is the best. It shows exactly what Shakespeare was trying to say in the original play.
