"A Midsummer Night's Dream”, is a comedy themed play that has merging components of mystical creatures, love, and of course dreams. It is a comedic play dealing with five couples who try to live through the obstacles of love and make it through evil minded tricks performed by court jesters (Bottom and Puck). Also, the comedic play interprets the events that surround the wedding of the Duke of Athens, Theseus, and Hippolyta. Which, includes the journeys of four young Athenian lovers as well as a group of six amateur actors, who are coordinated and influenced by the fairies who live in the forest in where a great portion of the story and/or play takes place.
Both Bottom and Puck are considered "comic fools". Puck is more a traditional sort of fool entertaining Oberon. Bottom has a more contemporary wit to him. He sees the world in his unique way yet his humorous musings have truth to them. Both these "fools" serve practical functions in the play. They not only further the plot but add thematic meaning as well. While bottom has good advice, as in how to stage the play Pyramus and Thisbe, he is at a loss how to actually use it. Puck is very much a servant of Oberon as much as a comic. Puck does Oberon's bidding while making wise remarks about life as well as people. Because Hermia's father didn't approve of the marriage and had wanted Hermia to marry a suitor he's choosing but Hermia wasn't pleased with that notion. Because a wedding is supposed to be a happy time for family, friends, and the couple that is about to marry. Performing, Prymus and Thisbe, may have set the depressing tone at the wedding. But it may have been significant to show Thesus's views on about the wedding and marriage. The play Prymus and Thisbe, featured Thesus's feelings of unhappiness and thinking nothing good can come this particular marriage. I guess because the couple that were to be married (Hermia and Lysander) , had family (Hermia's father) that wasn't pleased with the wedding.
In “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, “The course of true love never did run smooth,” characterize the affairs of the couples by saying that the entire perception of what true love is, no matter if it might be completely coordinated by fondness as well as desire, will have its ups and downs somewhere down the road. True love, is the road in which the relationship goes through, with this, it's the struggle and confusion being provoked with the numerous relationships being introduced during the course of “A Midsummer Night's Dream”. The path of love is complex furthermore by the fairies that get involved in the in the relationships of the characters throughout the play, as if they govern or watch over the developing relationships of each character.
The purpose that was served by having Titania fall in love with an ass was to show that even though Titania is perhaps the utmost influential woman in the play, she, like all the other women, is objected to the scheming of men throughout the play. In her case, her scheming husband (Oberon) and his comedic servant (Puck). Yet, at the end of the play all seems to be forgiven.
In “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, the reunion of Titania and Oberon, by the end of the play, which conveys peace among humanity. The reunion
