2.1. No integrated enterprise management system
As a globally operated manufacturing company, Seminole did not have integrated Enterprise Information Systems to link the entire company. The only advanced data system used in Silver Spring corporate headquarters is older IBM System/370-168 series mainframe with some basic network infrastructure. The IBM System/370 (S/370) was a model range of IBM mainframes announced on June 30, 1970 as the successors to the System/360 family. (2) This old IBM system is not able to satisfy the current operation ability. Company operates business not only most parts of United States, also in Asian country. As a manufacturing company, Seminole operates business through outsourcing and vendor contracts, the closely immediate contacts are required for business process. However, the current business procedure is absolutely inefficient. Each department of Seminole did not be connected closely, instead, Bruce always feel pressure to contact business operation from each branch manager, also each branch manager can not easily gather information from vendors , customers and partners. IT system should be applied to Seminole, such as ERP, HRM and CRM.
