An interim Care Order can be put into place if the child is deemed to be in an unsafe environment, which includes if there are concerns of abuse within the family. Within this interim care order, the local authority will share the responsibilities that the parents hold with the parents of the child but the local authorities will decide what is best for the child and where they live. This would be placed under section 31 of the Children act of 1989, which is known as an full care order. The full car order would allow the local authorities to remove the child from the family home if there is deemed to be a risk towards the child and gives the local authorities the responsibility of making decisions for the parents on behalf of the child.
