Current Event Report
The article I have chosen for my current event report was by Serge Schemann. It was published not on the day of the attack, but much later in 2010 as an article to remember what happened on that frightful day. It shows the graphic, and gruesome scene that arose from the smoke of the 9/11 attacks. Serge gives the reader a clear understanding, and a picture on what happened on that day.

This article continues on but I could not continue because it would be a five page long report. The report is about the 9/11 attacks and how that attackers carried out the attacks. Serge also includes, that the death toll was unknown and how that this attack spread fear and uncertainty across the U.S.. This article was written about September

specifically, the world trade centers a hub for business, shopping, and entertainment. The attack also happened during a turning point in the Middle East, when large groups of people were taking up arms against Westernization. This attack happened because after the Russian invasion of Afghanistan many Resistance fighters felt that they could make a change in the world, after the war. Many fighters joined groups such as Osama-Bin Laden and believed that western civilization was evil and must be destroyed. To make their place known they needed to target an American value. Sudam Hussein used chemical weapons against his own people he was also known to house terrorist leaders in the country. This fact is one of the main reasons the U.S invade Iraq.
Airport Security should have been tightened after the attacks. Airport security needed to be tightened because as we see in years past not having it can result in catastrophic losses to the U.S. and it’s Allies. On December 25, 2009 Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab boarded a plane with a bomb in his underwear at age 23. Monday, January 24 2011 Domodevo international airport in Moscow was attacked with a bomb in baggage claim. These incidents could have been prevented if there was tighter airport security not just in the U.S. but also around the world.
My last opinion surrounding the 9/11 attacks has to do with racism and discrimination. Since 9/11 everybody has at least profiled one Muslim person it is inevitable. In the book, the government profiled Ask me no Questions Nadira and her family and she almost got deported back to Bangladesh. This shows evidence that a book based on a persons life has evidence of racism and
