I would have never imagined my day to go the way it did. Ariel and I checked out of school one day, to go to my now ex-boyfriend’s football game. We could have never seen the day we had come ahead of us. We were turning onto the road that Ariel lives on, and all we could see were police cars. We stopped the car a few houses up from where Ariel lives and were watching as the police flooded into Ariel’s neighbors house. It was not much time until the SWAT team arrived. At this moment, Ariel and I were a little scared about what was going on. The Chief of Police in Homer, Van McDaniels, comes up to the driver window of the car and says, “Ladies yall do not need to be around here.” We sat in disbelief that it could be that serious. “What is going …show more content…
The SWAT team brought a humongous camera attached to a mechanical arm and drove it into the house. After they got a sight of the man, they started thinking of ways to extract him from the house. They soon threw canisters of knock-out gas into the house in hopes of making the man fall asleep. As me and Ariel looked around we noticed that all of the members of both the police department and SWAT team had gas masks on. Once again Van comes back to the car and tells us, “Keep the windows rolled up and do not get out of the car!” Both terrified me and Ariel told him that we really needed to get inside of her house. Van then said, “There is no way yall are getting in that house any time soon, it is too close and too dangerous.” Ariel and I had plans to get ready for the game and go eat before attending the game. With the way it was looking, we would not be going to eat, maybe not even going to the game. As we waited and watched, we saw the SWAT team rush into the house with their big guns. It was not long before they all came out, but to our surprise they did not have the suspect with them.
