Your Full Title of Your Paper On September 11th, 2001 the American way of life, and our freedom came under attack in a series of well planned out and deadly terrorist acts that killed approximately three thousand American citizens. The innocent victims were passengers in airplanes and office workers going through a regular Tuesday; they were secretaries, business professionals, military and government workers, parents, friends and neighbors. Thousands of lives were abruptly ended by evil, unexplainable acts of terror. President Bush at the time reassured, that whoever did this act, would pay for their actions. As we all know international law is not run by any particular government and its laws are not enforceable by any state or entity. But most states usually comply with international law for fear of retaliation, customs and to be in good standing with the rest of the other states. The Al Qaeda organization along with the Afghanistan government broke these laws in their entirety by attacking americans on US soil. Afghanistan did not directly attack the United States but they provided a safe haven for a terrorist organization to plan out freely their attack. A month after 9/11 occured, the Afghanistan government was told to surrender Bin Laden the former leader of the Al Qaeda organization. They refused. This was a sign of allegiance to an organization that wished havoc on the United States and its allies. Terrorism is defined as the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims. Al Qaeda consider themselves to follow Islam yet they are very brutal in their teachings and beliefs. This is opposed by other followers of Islam that believe that al Qaeda brings a bad reputation for the religion and its …show more content…
Compared to the almost 3,000 that died on 9/11 and the billions of dollars in damages we are just continuing down an endless hole. Although I do agree that there have been many lives lost and money spent but we can never let terrorist win. If the US had not taken action terrorists groups could have continued to do large scale attacks on the US and its allies. Spreading terror throughout the world. Sadly in 2017 this is the case. Citizens fear of public spaces due to the many terrorist attacks that have plagued the years after 9/11, many inspired by 9/11 or other terrorist attacks.. Can we all imagine what the world would be like today if the United States had never invaded Afghanistan? The number of terrorist attacks that we experience in today’s society would be nothing compared to the number that we would be experiencing if al Qaeda and its affiliates were allowed to move around Afghanistan and its neighboring countries as they pleased with a weak government in
