Further up the chimmney there are (either oppositely charged or) earthed metal plates.
As the smoke particles approach the earthed plates they induce an opposite charge on the surface of the plates.
They either gain or lose electrons from inside the plates, this results in the surface of the plates getting a small charge.
The dust particles are then attracted to these metal plates.
The smoke particles stick togther, form bigger particles and are eventually knocked down.
__ Circuit Beaker__________
A circuit beaker detects a tiny change in the current flowing through when there is fault a circuit and breaks the circut. It doesn't heat up like a fuse does.
Circuit beakers can switch off the fuse much more quciker than fuses.

When a speaker moves outwards it produces a compression, which is a region of high pressure. When the speaker moves back inwards, it produces a refraction which is a region of low pressure.
_____________________________________Inside a Nuclear Power Station _______________________________________________
Heat enerygy from a nuclear reactor is used to convert water into steam. Steam travels along pipes to a turbine, causing it to spin.
The turbine is connected to a generator, which is also allowed to spin, generating electricity as a result.

In nuclear fission an atom must first absorb an extra neutron, this causes it to spin and distort. A few billionth of a second later, the atom splits into two smaller RADIOACTIVE nuclei.
It is this processthat releases huge amount of the energy used to power nuclear reactors.
As the atoms split they also release 2 or 3 neutrons, other atoms IN THE MATERIAL THAT MAKE UP THE NUCLEAR REACTOR absorb this neutrons, thus CAUSING A CHANGE TO THEIR NUCLEUS making them unstable AND RELEASE MORE NEUTRONS, a chain reaction may start.
___Radioactive decay___ = Occurs when an unstable nucleus breaks down emits a form of ionising radiation.
When a nucleus breaks down during radioactive decay either its mass number or atomic number change, if the atomic number changes a new element is created. ALPHA - MASS NUMBER DOWN 4............ATOMIC DOWN 2 + a 4 2
