What is a general definition of intelligence?
According to our book, the definition of “intelligence” is the ability to apply knowledge about something that you already know, to achieve a new task.
What is Spearman’s g type of intelligence?
Spearman’s g type of intelligence is the part of intelligence that influences performance. Spearman said children’s performance is based off of general factors (their pervasive reasoning ability) and specific factors (executing a particular task).
What is Fluid Intelligence?
Fluid intelligence is the ability to learn new information quickly and adapt to change or a new situation in an appropriate way.
What is crystalized intelligence?
Crystalized intelligence is the knowledge that one has acquired through their experience, education and culture. Crystalized intelligence is more important in tasks that are dependent on language and prior knowledge because it requires them to use information that they already know about that subject.
Define and describe Howard Gardner’s 8 types of multiple intelligence.
Linguistic Intelligence is the ability to use language effectively. This involves things like writing poetry and making persuasive arguments.
Logical-Mathematical Intelligence is the ability to reason logically, mainly with things that involve mathematics and science. This involves being able to solve math problems and being able to prove the answers that you’ve gotten to.
Spatial Intelligence is the ability to notice things in detail and being able to manipulate visual objects in your mind. This can include being able to see the differences between two very similar objects.
Music intelligence is the ability to make, understand, and appreciate music. This includes things like being able to play a musical instrument or being able to compose music.
Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence is the ability to use one’s body skillfully. This can include things like dancing or being able to play a sport.
Interpersonal Intelligence is the ability to notice things in other people’s behaviors. This can include being able to correctly tell what kind of emotion someone is feeling and being able to detect someone’s desires and intentions.
Intrapersonal intelligence is the ability to be aware of one’s own feelings, desires, and motives. This includes being able to determine what motivates you to do certain things and being able to use self-knowledge to relate to others effectively.
Naturalist Intelligence is the ability to recognize patterns and differences in natural objects and life-forms. This includes things like being able to classify natural forms and being able to apply one’s knowledge to nature based things like farming
