Having a baby is how humans populate the world in which they live. In 2013, there were about 7 billion people in the world. In the same year, roughly 650,000 babies were aborted. (“Abortion Fast Facts”). Abortion is the termination of a fetus in order to prevent giving birth to a child. (“What is Abortion”). There is only one sure way to prevent pregnancy, and that is abstinence. Whether or not a person will feel regret or experience negative emotional side effects, like depression, will likely depend on whether or not they believe the fetus inside is actually a baby or not. Those who believe it is a baby, or have religious or moral views that go against abortion, will more likely feel regret. (“Abortion Emotional Side Effects”). In some cases, a woman can feel regret because they felt forced into an abortion. (“Abortion Emotional Side Effects”). An abortion is a choice that one has to live with for the rest of their life. Women who have chosen abortion in the past and are suffering from emotional depression should seek help, talk to someone, avoid being alone, and find a group of friends that will support them and help them work through the emotional distress.
