“Abortion takes the life of innocent human beings who are the most vulnerable in our society” (Napolitano). As of today, the people, especially women, have been taught that aborting a fetus is not murder. This is a thing that must be changed, after all, “A society that prefers death to life not only cannot prosper; it cannot survive” (Napolitano). Abortion is an overused and immoral practice that should ultimately be stopped with needed laws for the good of our country. Any two humans are at the same level of importance and should have the same rights. So, a mother has as much right to a life as a child. Although, the woman’s life is rarely a problem, as she is not the one who’s life is in danger (Abortion…”). Some do not realize the imbalance of such a decision as abortion. In 1990, the number of abortions had peaked to over 1.6 million abortions according to the Guttmacher report (McCammon). This is good news because with the new state regulations, especially in Texas, show there have been other very rewarding achievements. The NPR organization also shows that there has been a great improvement in the pace of unintended pregnancies (McCammon). For what those game changing rules have set is a higher awareness and risk of having sex without intending pregnancies, so the people who really do not want a child when going through intercourse take extra precaution to not get pregnant, therefore helping them stay out of the choice of ending a baby’s life. As well as less unintended pregnancies, there has been “a historically low teen pregnancy rate,” according to the NPR organization (McCammon).
