What is Activism Have you ever heard of a teen who changed the world for everybody? They are being targeted for their opinion. even a youth child has been killed for trying to make a difference in the world. These are what teen activists do. An activist is a person who campaigns for some kind of social change. For over 150 years, the ASPCA has worked to put an end to animal abuse and neglect. We are a national leader in the areas of rescue, adoption and welfare. How did this affect me? Owners give them up, or animal control finds them on the street.Homeless animals outnumber homeless people 5 to 1. Each year, approximately 2.7 million dogs and cats are killed every year because shelters are too full and there aren’t enough adoptive homes. Act as a publicist for your local shelter so pets can find homes. Approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year.
