Part One
My state was North Carolina, inside the state I choose the towns of Cary and Greensboro. I choose these two states because they were two of the largest departments within. I also choose these two because I have personally been there. From my personal experience, they are great places to visit and live. My first town was Cary. This is a striving city because it is conveniently in the heart of the triangle of North Carolina. Cary is in north central North Carolina, just southwest of the state capital at Raleigh. Cary is continually ranked in the top 20 safest large cities nationally and the safest in the Southeast. Along with the security of the city, all of the fire departments and police agencies are nationally accredited. One thing many people take in consideration about cities is the education and the fellow members of the community. As a whole, Cary community members are a blessed, hard-working group with one of the highest median household incomes in the state. Being no further than 20 minutes from major universities such as Duke, North Carolina State, and the University of North Carolina, it's no wonder that education is an important part of Cary life. More than two-thirds of adults hold a college degree. About 94 percent of citizens have access to the Internet in this, the Technology Town of North Carolina. As described Cary is a booming city with a population of 139,633. Cary is one of the largest cities inside North Carolina and it surely shows its colors. The Cary police department is a large part of the community. The Cary Police Department recently received its accreditation for the 20th consecutive year through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement (CALEA). For the first time, the agency also received CALEA's new award, the Accreditation with Excellence award. There are a total of 193 sworn officers that work hard and diligently to help the community. As statistics show, they do their part in the community and it surely shows through their awards. Not only do they protect and serve, they are a very community oriented department. They take part in many community oriented programs such as. Project PHOENIX is designed to help residents, owners, and rental property managers keep drugs and other illegal activity off their property. This initiative brings Cary police and apartment managers together to share information, review crime trends, and develop strategies for solving problems and reducing the fear of crime in and near multifamily housing developments. Team officers will partner with residents and management staff to become involved in community affairs and tailor services to the unique characteristics and needs of the participating properties. They also take part in operation medicine drop. The Town of Cary Police Department joins the North Carolina Department of Insurance, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and Safe Kids North Carolina twice a year to sponsor local pill take back events called Operation medicine Drop. These events provide sites to safely and legally dispose of unused and outdated prescriptions medicine. They also take part in school resource officers, which is important because it can help control and regulate what goes on inside of our schools. There will be a police officer at every school every day of the week. The Cary police department is a huge community oriented police department and works with and around the community on a daily basis. My next city is Greensboro Police department. Greensboro is the third-largest city by population in North Carolina and the largest city in Guilford County and the surrounding Piedmont Triad metropolitan region this is a large city in North Carolina. They have a population of 269,666 people on 132.19 square miles. Greensboro has grown to be part of a metropolitan area called the Triad, which encompasses three major cities (Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem), as well as many medium
