I firmly believe in the fact that if you can fix something, that you should, as long as it will be worth it in the long run. I don’t believe that the end doesn’t always justify the means, but that it sometimes does. For example, with GMOs, I believe that there is nothing wrong with changing somethings genetic structure. The organism won’t be in any pain, and is better for people if it’s a plant. Another purpose for GMOs could be genetic diseases, which we can cure, but are not allowed to due to many laws prohibiting it. I believe that it is better to make something work better, and that is what engineers do. Add in the fact that I love airplanes, and then you get aerospace …show more content…
I like the idea of being able to help people without having to deal directly with the public. As I learned in my job shadow, many aerospace engineers have their pilot’s license, and that is something I have always wanted to do. I learned about this career when I in fourth grade reading Harry Potter for the first time. I wanted to create a personal flying device that looked like a broom. When I finished designing it, it had huge wings, a jet engine on the back with wheels that would extend from the bottom for landing. It resembled more of a big, flat board with wings when I had finished. Eventually I started learning more about physics and realized that my idea would never take flight. That was how I learned about aerospace engineering because I wanted someone to pay me for designing the world’s first popular personal flying
