John Locke is a philosopher who focuses on the state of nature. The state of nature is the fundamental right that a human being gets when they are born. Those rights of nature are property, life and liberty and if anyone violates those rights you automatically have permission to violate one of their rights. Locke, n.d. For Locke it is not so much an eye for an eye situation as it is if one thing is violated you can go to the extreme. A very common example of this is the thief problem. The thief problem is when a thief steals something from you should have the right to be able to kill them because they violated your natural right by stealing something small. There have been a lot of discussions about this and what Locke would actually think. He believes that those states of nature are fundamentally important. Some solutions that Locke would approve of in order to fix domination, oppression, and exploitation would be to amend the constitution or get some states to overturn their death penalty laws to legalize the death penalty. By doing this, he would be able to legalize the punishment of people who violate one of their states of nature. I also believe that Locke would want to implement
