African American Millennials Essay

Let's face it, African American continues to be at the bottom of the totem pole. At every socioeconomic category, African American has been at the bottom. Although Black Americans are considered as equals in America, there is a level of inequality they still face. Ever since slaves gained freedom, one would think there would be a change in how Blacks are viewed and treated. Unfortunately, there have been few changes. As a result, many young Black millennials find it hard to get ahead because they face systematic racism, oppression, and lack of resources.

Their studies have shown that black women earned 68 percent of all associate degrees awarded to a black student, which also includes 66 percent of bachelor’s degrees, 71 and 66 percent of both master’s and doctorates degrees.
And yet with various degrees black Women are still forced to work lesser paying jobs. This is because when it comes to jobs, may of them are faced with employers who are sexist and are biased toward women, which in terms leads them to look for work where else. Which can be looked at as a form of oppression pushing many black people into substantially lesser paying job which can look like slavery. The fact is black people continue to strive in our everyday society by being hungry and persistent, however, still face two things unemployment and the ability to own business. There is a need for more business according to the "Bureau of labor statistics," over the past six decades the black unemployment rate is consistently twice that of white. Black owned business create 1 million jobs which are enough to employ 4 percent of those looking for jobs with annual revenues of 187.6 billion they could give every working black American a check for 7,000 every
