Introduction The Names Project Aids Memorial Quilt was founded by Cleve Jones, who began the project by making a place card, in memory of his friend he had lost to AIDS, to hang on the wall of the San Francisco Federal Building. He also asked his many friends to do the same for anyone they wanted to remember that had lost the fight with the disease. At the end of the project, the place cards on the wall began to look like a patchwork quilt. So the empowering and beautiful inspirational project was born. Is this community project really doing anything more than being a support center for sufferers?
