The movement that helped women get voting rights and other rights was known as the 19th amendment and women's suffrage. Woman all over America wanted to be able to vote and get rights so they decided to go and start a movement to get some rights. Woman near the 1800s were not allowed to vote or go to college so they were stuck at home being a housewife and looking pretty. WOman knew deep in their hearts that they wanted to be able to get professional jobs and vote so they started to rally and to get people to notice them. ALice Paul is the well known woman of this movement which is why we will be talking about her and even Susan B. ANthony who was an activists towards this. THe movement to give women rights had started around 1820 and then gained strength around 1840. It did have to take time for this to come into place but the more these woman waited the more people than came to join them in their movement. Women didn’t have the rights to go to college and get professional jobs which is why other woman were thinking about joining this movement, because they also wanted freedom to get jobs. Susan B. Anthony also said,”I don't want to die as long as I can work; the minute I can not, I want to go.” WOman wanted to have jobs instead of being useless and staying home for kids and men. This movement then took place for the woman who wanted more credit than they already had which then was the rise of this movement. Woman were not allowed to vote so once woman had heard about this movement they wanted and needed to join women needed this freedom so they can be just like everyone else. This also started because way back one woman was allowed to vote she was well known and like by many so when word got out that she was able to vote other women wanted in because of this one woman who was allowed to vote. It was very rare for this one woman to be able to vote but thanks to her many other woman decided to help start the 19th amendment. This was the main beginning the start in this new marvelous movement to help women get rights to vote and
