Some people would like to argue that phones are an essential part of class. There are also people who would like to argue that they are not an essential part of class. I think that there are both good reasons to back up an argument for either side. I believe that cell phones should not be allowed in class. I’m going to talk about both points and back up my opinion as well. Some people back up reasoning for why they should be allowed to have cell phones in class. In Charging stations essay, he states 7 reasons why cell phones should be in class. One reasoning he explains is that it can teach responsibility to the student for not having it out and still having it in the possession of the student. I believe that they should not be allowed, Why? Because it causes a distraction to the student even when the teacher can be giving a lesson. Charging stations argument for 7 reasons why students should be allowed to have cell phones in class has very good points to his argument, But they can all be backed up with another argument for why they should not be allowed. He states that it can make the student happy. I believe students do not come to school for happiness yet to be happy to learn. It is not fun coming to school but it is not a place for a student to do as one pleases and be happy. All students come to school to learn and set life goals. They cannot do that if the distraction of their phone is in their possession. Charging stations also explains that it teaches responsibility. While that is true, it also causes the student not to be responsible because of the possibilities of the student looking up the answers online or texting a friend to cheat. It is better for the student to learn responsibility by doing their work and studying as much as they can to become more successful in life. He also includes that it is quicker and easier to type notes while the teacher is giving them. There are many red flags with this point because a student could be playing games, cheating, or texting a friend instead of taking the notes they should be taking. That can also not help the students handwriting instead
