There are billions upon billions of dollars put into the movie industry every year. One of the highest-grossing movies this past year was ‘American Sniper’, based on the true story of Navy SEAL sniper, Chris Kyle, who had the highest number of kills in American military history. War is a monstrous beast that many of us cannot wrap our minds around because we simply have not experienced it. We are able to live vicariously through different war events because of the news, books, and movies, but in the end, we are able to walk away from the battle without any wounds, except maybe the sorrow felt for the men and women serving our country. Those men and women fight a big battle overseas, and they are still fighting when they come back home. Soldiers, like Chris Kyle, are sometimes not able to place themselves back into society and function in everyday life because their minds are constantly jumping back to someplace else. …show more content…
Even after four tours of duty, Kyle seemed to find a sort of peace by helping fellow service members cope with injuries, lifestyle changes, and the fact of being back in the states.
