-The Rhode Island colony was founded in 1636

-Rhode Island was founded by Roger Williams and other colonist such as Ann Hutchinson at providence
4. Why was your colony founded? Four what purpose? Business expansion? Religious freedom? Etc. was it in the New England Middle or South colonies?
-Rodger Williams founded the colony in 1936. He granted religious and political freedom. Religious refuges from the Massachusetts Bay colony settled in Rhode Island. It was one of the most liberal colonies. Rhode Island is in the New England Colonies.
5. What was the official religion of the colony?
-The Puritans dominated New England and were a Reform movement in the Anglican Church that aimed at purifying the church of corruption. The religion of the Puritans who had settled in Massachusetts was strict and austere leading to dissent with many church members. The situation was so serious that Anne Hutchinson was found guilty condemned to banishment by the Civil Court which led to the establishment of Colonial Rhode Island. The group of Nonconformists and dissenters believed in religious freedom and the separation of church and state whereas the Puritans in Massachusetts believed in a government and society tied to the church. The Rhode Island Charter of 1663 proclaimed that a flourishing civil state may stand and best be maintained with full liberty in religious concernments. Other colonists including Catholics and Jews settled in Rhode Island which allowed them religious freedom. So there is no official religion for this colony
6. What kind of government system establish under the English Crown? List details and positions.
-Anne Hutchinson and her followers established a home in Portsmouth and adopted a new government which provided for trial by jury and separation of church and state. In 1651 England claimed the right to appoint a governor for Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, with a provincial council, to be elected by the freeholders and accepted by the King. On July 15, 1663 King Charles II granted the Charter of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. Colonial Rhode Island became a Charter Colony which was largely self-governed. The charter established the rules of government, but allowed the Rhode Island colonists a great amount of freedom within those rules. The organization of Government in Colonial Rhode Island was structured as follows:

-In terms of revenue generated Rhode Island top five agricultural are green house and nursery products, sweet corn, dairy products, potatoes and cattle and calves.
