Personal Narrative: A Career In High School

High School is a time of growth and change. You are transitioning from being a child to being an adult. Being an adult comes with many new responsibilities. You can begin preparing for these responsibilities during your teenage years. Throughout my highschool career I prepared myself for these new responsibilities by playing sports, taking on a job, excelling at school, and being busy in general.
Playing sports is a great way to prepare for college and adulthood. It teaches you many important skill such as tenacity, teamwork, and discipline. Even though the ability to throw a ball at 80mph or run 40 yards in 4.5 seconds may not help you in college, being able to overcome challenges and work with other people will. In high school I started playing sports from the get-go. Since I was going to a new school, soccer was a great way to make friends. Freshman year I started for varsity soccer and varsity baseball. I continued to play soccer and baseball through high school. I was comfortable with those sports. I had been playing them for a while and I was confident in my abilities. I wasn't driving just any car, I was very blessed to be given a brand new 2017 mustang by my parents. A car comes with a lot of responsibilities by itself but my parents decided that if I was going to get a new car that I had to get a job and start working. I applied for a couple of jobs but due to my busy schedule it was hard to find someone who would hire me. Finally I landed not only one job, but two. I began landscaping and working as a busboy at a restaurant. Both jobs required hard work and neither were much fun but I kept a positive attitude, worked hard, and made the most out of it. Working as a teenager helped me prepare for working for the rest of my life. Even though the actual work may not be same it still teaches prepares you for the responsibilities that come with working and
