Apollo was the greek god of the sun, truth, music, poetry, dance, and healing. He was worshipped by many different people. Ranging from cattle drivers to poets, musicians to performers, travellers to artists. They believed that he would bring prosperity to the good, and vanquish the evil. Most of his worshippers were people who were in the arts.
They say that he was born in the ancient city of Delos, in the Cyclades archipelago. Many said that he was born in light. The philosopher Homer declared that Apollo was the god of divine distance, and the god who made men aware of their guilt and cured their sorry souls. As with many other gods, he had another name.
