Athletic trainers work with many different people on a day-to-day basis. Peterson writes “In the case of AT studies, this means evaluating the effects on all stakeholders influenced by AT services, such as athletes, parents, and other caregivers; schools and employers; physicians and hospitals’’ (Peterson). In the past six years, the field has changed with an increase in students. The Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) said that in 2021-22 it was observed that a 9.2% increase in students that were admitted to athletic training programs in 2020-21. As well as in 2021-22, approximately 18% more students who graduated were transitioning into athletic training when compared to 2017-18 (Sitzler).
