The perceived notions of the “American Dream” appealed to him as this would be the way he would provide for his family back home and maybe even establish one within his new borders. His plan was simple: go to college, graduate, and then find a well paying job that will provide for him and his family. Little did my father know that this was not an accurate representation of life in America. Life would not be that easy.
