Canada is as culturally and ethnically diverse as it is physically large, and being a Canadian citizen may mean different things to many Canadians. To me, being Canadian means that I have the freedom to stand up for what I believe in; without fear of repression or punishment. These freedoms are afforded to us because of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and that document is what forms the crux of our democracy.
Over the past several years, I’ve had the incredible opportunity of travelling abroad, visiting several countries and have been fortunate enough to experience their distinct cultures.
