Being a first-generation college student gives me an intense feeling of pride, even though I feel afraid and a bit overwhelmed. Going through the application and financial aid process has been challenging since there is no previous experience to pull from. I feel proud because I plan to accomplish something that my parents didn’t, which is to have a college education and get a degree.
