The reason he dedicated all that time and work into his studies, experiments, and inventions was simply because he loved to know that during his lifetime, he benefited the human population and potentially changed the world. Studying and experimenting with natural philosophy or science gave Franklin all the satisfaction he needed in life because he knew that his discoveries would create many advancements and benefits to the whole world (Talbott et al. 163). In fact, Franklin was so generous that he did not patent his inventions. He believed that by doing so, people would be free to create better things from his inventions that he could not even think of (“Benjamin Franklin”).
Benjamin Franklin revolutionized the medical, meteorological, geographical, and electrical fields. He dedicated his life to help improve the lives of not only himself or his family, but as well as the whole human population. He did not patent his discoveries so people would advance his creations in ways that he could not even think of.
