In the story his strength is unmatched by any mortal man of the time and it allows him to have the ability to conquer anything. In the third portion titled “THE BATTLE WITH GRENDEL” it tells of his strength in that it explains he rips the arm off Grendel. The lake in which I am referring to as the lake of hell is described in the fourth section of the poem “THE MONSTERS’ LAIR Pg. #51-52 line(s) 411-449” and it is described as “At night that lake Burns like a torch. Pg.#52 line(s) 431-432” And “A stag with great horns, though driven through the forest from faraway places prefers to die on those shores, refuses to save its life in that water.
