Beowulf's Fatal Flaw

The thanes in Beowulf very accurately represent what was, at the time, considered to be the model of a warrior. Beowulf is extremely proud of himself and all his achievements, which is shown in his boastful monologue “Insert monologue here” (in text citation). This shows that Beowulf took pride in his accomplishments and was not afraid to vaunt about himself; this was expected of warriors at the time. Beowulf also performed deeds with godlike strength, which is displayed when Beowulf rips arm off of the devilish monster, Grendel (in text citation).
