Some of the best nursing practices include interdisciplinary collaboration, evidence-based practice, and client education. Through these three best practices, nurses are able to care for their patients in a well-organized manner. One article suggests that “interdisciplinary teams play an important role in providing the best possible quality of care to patients” (Simec et al, 222). This goes to show that working together can provide the best possible quality of care for patients, as well as improving the environment in which nurses work. Evidence-Based Practice Evidence-Based Practice in a nursing field consists of being able to care for patients using the most up to date and best care. To provide the best possible care for a patient, nurses must be familiar with the most appropriate care options. As one article states, “Evidence-based care provides a higher standard of patient care” (Ramage, 40). Arguably, a nurse's main goal is to provide the highest standard of patient care, and to accomplish this, evidence-based practice is one step in this process. Client Education Nurses may be able to successfully collaborate with other nurses and members of a health care team and use evidence-based practice, however, without being able to effectively educate a patient, these other qualities may not be enough.
