(Jeremiah 29:11)” Bethany Hamilton lived her life through her faith in God and she believes this is what ultimately saved her. Bethany Hamilton was born February 8, 1990 in Lihue, Hawaii. She was the youngest of three kids and she claims her two brothers are the reason she is so competitive. Hamilton was homeschooled by her mother. Being that her parents were both very passionate about surfing, Bethany started surfing at a young age. As a teen, she joined the Hanalei Girls’ Surf team because she had always had a dream of becoming a professional surfer.
