Betty White has been in show business since 1950. She started out as an assistant on a local television station in L.A. She was on several sitcoms, game shows, and most recently became the Saturday night live host.

She made several appearances on several television shows. She was often on the tonight show with Jack Paar. She was one of his favorites. White won two Emmy Awards for her work on the Mary Tyler Moore. White played the sweet and naive Rose Nylund on the popular 1980s sitcom The Golden Girls. The series was one of the top-ranked shows during its seven seasons on the air, and it won several awards, including another Emmy Award for White. After The Golden Girls went off the air in 1992, White appeared in the short-lived spin-off, Golden Palace. She seemed to have had better luck as a guest star, appearing on numerous television series.
While white worked steadily over the years, her career caught fire in 2010. She appeared in a funny candy bar ad during the 2010 Super Bowl, which quickly became an audience favorite. Due to all the feedback from the commercial that May White became the oldest person to host Saturday Night Live. At first she was reluctant to do the show, explaining to Newsweek that it "was the scariest thing I've ever done. It was really funny stuff, but it was a challenge."
