William Henry Gates the third used a couple techniques when it came to his leadership style. Bill used an authoritarian leadership style. This seems to be one of the most successful leadership styles. He provided clear expectations for what needs to be done, when it should be done, and how it should be done! He controls all activities without any meaningful help. At times when employees wouldn’t be doing what they are supposed to Bill would get sarcastic with them. He also would be a little to blunt sometimes when in meetings and say some rude remarks, but it was all out of respect to make the business better; which he succeeded in! He also used Autocratic style. He has an obsession with everything being perfect right down to the very last detail. Gates likes to be in control of his management, and he dislikes complaints. Another style used is Delegate style. Bill needed the best talent, and that is who he hired! He believed it would be the most critical element in the industry. He also delegates power to some managers to run their own independent departments. Even though many people criticized Bill for making Microsoft a monopoly and limited the abilities of other competitors. Gates has fought many legal battles in court since Microsoft against Apple, Netscape, Opera, WordPerfect, and sun Microsystems. Through all the criticism and battles he founded one of the strongest and influential companies in the world. Bill Gates led a very successful company and was a very successful leader. Vision and dedication are two main key factors Bill has always had even since he was younger. His hard work, dedication, and self-confidence helped him get to where he is today. Bill Gates is a very intelligent, passionate, and innovated person. He is a good leader
