Although, in the court case of Safford Unified School District v. Redding, the Amendment was violated. At Safford Middle School, an eighth grader, Savana Redding, was strip searched by school officials because they thought she was the source of passing drugs to students. The search involved Savana taking off all her clothing, exposing her breasts and pelvic area. The Supreme Court decided that it did violate Savana's Fourth Amendment rights when school officials searched her underwear. The school officials did not have enough evidence or a warrant to be able to go as far as searching her underwear. This is a violation to the Amendment because she had to deprive her clothing and undergarments and there was no reason why she would conceal drugs inside her underwear.
