Binge drinking is dangerous no matter the circumstances, but can be much more harmful to teens than adults. Binge drinking is the consumption of an excessive amount of alcohol in a short period of time. According to drugfreeworld.org Ninety percent of alcohol consumed by the age twenty-one and younger is in the form of binge drinking. Studies show that one in every four high school student have gone out and consumed an excessive amount of alcohol in their life. One out of every ten high school students binge drink at least once a month. That much alcohol consumption in such a short period of time can be deadly, especially to adolescents. Kids begin to define themselves, and branch to start doing what they enjoy. Teenagers who decide to binge drink are putting a major strain on the development of their brains.
