Birth control pills is one of the most commonly used kind of contraceptives that has been created. The birth control pill does this by preventing the development of the egg in the woman’s ovary during her monthly menstrual cycle. To keep that hormone from being released during the woman's monthly cycle, the birth control pill produces the right amount of artificial estrogen. The birth control pill also contains a second artificial hormone, which is the progestin, that increases the thickness of cervical mucus and interferes with the development of the uterine lining to further prevent pregnancy. It was shown in studies that the birth control pill has 99% effectiveness in preventing pregnancy. The results of studies on the safety of the birth control pills difer. Some studies show that the use of it increases the risk of some types of cancer, while others show that the risk was lowest.
