In my opinion, I think Blakemore’s argument is effective at convincing me to agree with her. Ms. Blakemore is an author and researcher who works with adolescents. Blackmore argues that the adolescent brain is a crucial stage of our becoming individual and social beings as adults.This relates to another done on a man named Phineas Gage because both relate to changes in their behavior due to changes in their brain development.

The author says that adolescence is a distinct and unique time of brain development because our time as adolescents determines who we will become as adults. Blakemore includes information about age and risk-taking to encourage the reader to consider risk-taking. She states in her argument paragraph 7 “A study led by Laurence
