The reading The Crucible of Struggle: A History of Mexican Americans from Colonial Times to the Present Era, relies on “Immigration from Mexico and economic growth in the southwest became integrally related. Likewise, racial conflict became interwoven with class and economic conflict.” (Zaragosa Vargas).
